Is Candy Crush Ruining Relationships

Question:I'm not even kidding when I asked this question because I saw on the news last night that Candy Crush is causing a problem in some people's relationship. How do you feel about Candy Crush or social media addiction in general causing conflicts in relationships?

Answer: Too much of anything is NOT good. Addictions ruin relationships, PERIOD. It all seems like fun and games but when a person is addicted to anything it not only affects them, but it directly affects their relationships. I know people who are addicted to sex. Some people say “oh that’s a good addiction”, well wait til you get with a sex addict…..oh how pleasurable things change quickly.

The same with video games, Candy Crush and other things with bright lights, animation, and/or fantasy; these addictions capture the users mind and literally sends them into a trance. They become unresponsive, (try talking to someone while they are in the middle of a game)……you’d be better off talking to a brick wall and getting it to respond back to you. Some become agitated by normal things….someone’s voice, traffic (because it’s hindering their ability to play their game), work (becomes a hindrance), people (become a distraction) and so many other normal day to day things turn into something negative; causing the addict to view everything contrary to their addiction as a hindrance.

Let's not leave off social media addiction- its an addiction to fantasy as well. For example: how glamorous other's portray their "wonderful" lives to be, (which is the Fantasy part), Drama, what so & so is doing, and Approval how can I make myself look better to other's!! Do you really think a  relationship can stand when one person or both is addicted to drama, things that aren't real, and longing to be accepted? FAIL!!
