Travel Thursday's: Punta Mita

Ok, so you all know that I think I have Hispanic in my blood, right? No seriously I’d kill for a great Mexican restaurant, Mexican vacation, or an opportunity to get down with my Hispanic and Dominican mami’s and papi’s at their festive family functions. So today ladies and gents, in honor of my unproven blood line we are traveling to the St Regis hotel in Punta Mita. For your information only, I get all of these destination ideas from @luxtravelgirl on Instagram, idealizing her photos and going in to do the research to offer you (and I) wonderful vacation ideas.  Are you ready to travel down to Mexico?

The St. Regis has always been, and will always be a luxurious name in hotel name dropping. So anytime someone mentions a night or two at The St. Regis hotel, you know what’s up! If you don’t believe me try  dropping that name (St. Regis) into your girls ear as a potential destination for your next girls trip and see the reaction you’ll get. Located right on the Pacific Coast, the name Punta Mita literally means “getaway to paradise”, how awesome is that?! I can literally visualize you thinking about what to pack in those bags RIGHT NOW! The name isn’t even the best part, check this: no matter what time of year you go, let’s just say you want to go for the Christmas Holiday, be of good cheer because you are likely to expect temperatures around 75 degrees!

Surrounding the area you can enjoy shops, food, and entertainment as well as hiking, sailing, jungle excursions and dolphin watching. If your desire is to lounge around at the hotel here is the experience they offer you: cocktail classes, bike tours, dance lessons, Spanish lessons (to brush up on that Española) and even do- it- yourself guacamole classes.
The standard room offers either a garden or a ocean view, each with its own private terrace for your relaxing pleasure. Or for in-room entertainment you have your flat screen tv, movie system, ihome radio clock, and more. Beds are lined with 100% Egyptian cotton and the bathroom even has a mini tv. Choose from four restaurants and lounges to satisfying your taste palate within the hotel, but don’t feel limited there are numerous restaurants surrounding the area. Oh and let’s not forget that fresh ocean breeze which is in walking distance!

So what do you need for this vacation?

Money-  Rooms average $400 a night + 600(+) flight per person + spending cash= $1500 (or less) per person for a 4 day, 3 night trip!

Travel Time- The flight is approx. 9 hours, so make sure you load up the ipod, wear comfy clothes, grab your favorite book or two, your laptop for working purposes and plenty of snacks as you prepare for your “getaway to paradise” experience.

Clothing- Minimal (Sundresses, swim suits, and sunscreen)

Company- Your closest gal pals, or your boo thang would be appropriate.

Hope you enjoyed our mini vacay and are soon afforded the opportunity to travel there! Safe travels and best wishes for your life journey!
