October is almost over so check out some things you can do
while it’s still comfortable outdoors! Single ladies and those who are taken, check
out my findings for what’s happening in ATL this weekend.
Food
Here to Serve strikes again!! If you aren’t familiar with
the H2S food company it includes the likes of Twist, Strip, Noche, Prime, Coast and many other
popular Atlanta restaurants under its umbrella. I've always felt when in doubt that an H2S
restaurant will forever be a reliable go to resource to depend on. So in my search, regarding your weekend eats, I
came across a fairly new restaurant linked to the chain called, Smash Kitchen
and Bar. SMASH huh, and from the looks of things the food appears smashing and so
does the reviews! Located right in the city for your convenience why not try something new with your
gal pals or your boo thang this weekend!
**Giggles**
The menu is very much Americanized, alerting those instinctive chicken, steak, and/or
pizza taste buds that rise from time to time. And for the non-meat and carb
eaters they also have salads and other food choices for the fit conscious to ensure no one is
left out! They offer a little bit for everyone, just like all the other links to this chain. Oh and one more thing..... to
further confuse which day this weekend you give Smash a try, I failed to mention that they also have a
Sunday Brunch! Try it out and let me know what you think!
Fun & Adventurous
I did not attend college in the AUC but apparently everyone
I know did, or at least it feels that way. There is so much going in this
weekend for the AUC homecoming so if you like tailgating, partying, or watching
football this may be an alternative for you. My coworkers are hosting a FREE
day party on Friday for those interested in that scene at Cloud 9 restaurant on
Peters street from 4pm-7pm.
If that isn't your speed you can travel out to Midtown for an all weekend long
event: The Taste of Atlanta. This is news to me because I never knew Atlanta
had a “Taste”, lol. At this event you and your favorite gal pals can enjoy 4 live food stages, live music,
a VIP beer, wine & cocktail tasting, as well as sampling a variety of cuisine from over 90 restaurants!
Tickets range from $30-$85 depending on what you want to do, but I
believe every penny is worth it! Check out the events website for all the details!
Empowerment
Know someone being bullied? Feel passionate about helping victims of bullying? Georgia State University is hosting an anti bullying event for you to bring a young person you know who is struggling with being bullied or one who likes to bully others. My motto is each one teach one, we don't have to wait until a school shooting or suicide to react! Let's be proactive, it all starts with us. Be a leader and role model by showing our youth that bullying is not the answer and we are here because we care. This event takes place Sunday, October 27 from 4:30pm-6:30pm in the Georgia State Ballroom located inside the Student Center! View the organization that is hosting this events website below!

So I got you covered from food, to fun and even empowerment! Top off this wonderful weekend and even start the next week with some quality time with the Father by attending church or logging on live stream to hear my Pastor, Jentenzen Franklin!
